virtual tour

Compile a list of as many places as you can which allow you to take a virtual tour.

-New Zealand Parliaments

- White house

- Anne Franks house

- London

- New york time Square

- Disneyland

Write an interesting and engaging review of virtual tours online.

A review should:
  • explain what happens on a virtual tour
  • mention highlights on the tours
  • give an overall opinion of virtual tours online (strengths and weaknesses)
  • mention specific virtual tours you have looked at as examples
  • include hyperlinks to the virtual tours you mention
200 words minimum

A virtual tour is a tour that allows people to use laptops or ipads / phone's to take a virtual, self-guided, room by room tour of any place they wish to have a look at. The highlights of having virtual tours are that you don't need to leave the comfort of your home and if you are someone that doesn't like to walk around for hours this is perfect for you. In each room there is different videos and things to read all about the place and most of them are in 3D which is really cool. I think that virtual is an awesome Idea because you get to see place that you may not be able to go because of some reason most of the tours are in good quality not blurry or anything like that, A problem with virtual tours are that on some tours they are only black and white or it is Blurry and sometimes you can only look around in one area not move on and look at a different place. I really liked the virtual tour of New York time square because I have always wanted to go there and the tour just gave me a better image of it. So in conclusion I think that a Virtual tour is a great idea it just needs to fix some things and it will be good to go.

My trip to girls collage.

Today we had our visit to Tauranga Girls College. I learned a lot about TGC and I got a lot of the questions I was thinking about answered, I don't think I will get as lost now not saying I won't get lost because come on it's me we are talking about anyway I am really excited about making new friends, the sports and also seeing my old friends and friends that go to other schools. I am kinda upset that it's an all girl school because I have some really good guy friends that I like to hang out with but that's alright. Today my group meet the head girl for next year, the art leader, deputy head girl and sports caption. In the future I hope to be one of those girls. We had really nice girls that showed us around the school so all in all I had a really good day.  Some of the questions I had were, what do we do for pe? the answer was all different sport, my second one was what do we do with our bags? the answer was you have to carry them around EVERYWHERE my poor back. To be honest the school isn't as big as I thought it would be but it still is pretty big. I LOVED THE LIBARY it was awesome there was lots of books.

SAYING THE WRONG THING

Give your opinion on what happened here. Explain your opinion in full.
I think that even know he unintentionally offended Lorde it is still really mean and he should learn to keep his opinion to himself.

Think of a time you ‘put your foot in your mouth’ (said the wrong thing and unintentionally offended someone)? What happened?

My Auntie had just brought a new house and she was in the kitchen and I was like "do you even need a kitchen" she got a bit offended but I said sorry and it was algud.

Has advancing technology helped or hurt us?

Do you think advancing technology has helped or hurt us

I think that there is good things about technology but there is also some bad things.

Helping

I think that technology helps in schools, businesses, hospitals and community and it saves trees. Technology is fast and easy to work so it doesn't waste your time it's also helpful to all ages for example in schools teachers are using technology to help there kids with research and making learning more fun and 2400 trees where saved because of it.

Hurt us

On the down side of technology it uses so much power and it causes people to become lazy and because of that they become fat which is not good also lots of people are getting bullied on social websites like facebook  for example there has been 1 million suicides this year due to tech.

In conclusion I think that technology can be good sometimes but not so much other times. I think that it does help us in lots of ways but also it hurts us.

Life ed summary

7 step ladder

In life ed I learned about the 7 step ladder. The 7 step ladder is a ladder of puberty, it takes 7 years to go though puberty. Normally you start puberty around the ages of 10 and 15, it is like your brain runs an imaginary tape measure over your body and if everything is good the brains tells the pituitary gland to begin releasing the hormones.

Delay the decision

Also in life ed we learned to delay the decision which means that if you are thinking about taking drugs or stuff like that, what until after puberty too or even then wait till your brain is fully grown which is about that the age of 25 and even then make sure you make a wise choice because it can change your life for ever.

how do drugs affect your brain.

Mr J mice

m = Memoryr = Reasoningj = Judgment m =Mechanical skillsi = Intellect c = Concentration e = Emotions

They are all things that get affect when you take drugs. Your brain memory is split into 4 different spaces, First is future thinking  then todays thinking then short term memory and long term memory. When you take drugs your short term memory and future thinking gets affected.

Here is a story that we heard about in life ed.

There was a girl that lied to her parents and went out with her friends to a club, she had to much to drink so her friends ditched her because she was slowing them down, she was found unconscious in the back of a random car, she was rushed off to hospital, she was ok but it was still really silly thing she did.

Translation

Explain what a translation is
A translation is an object that changes its position but not its size or shape.

Explain how a vector works. What does it look like? What does the top number indicate?
A vector is numbers in brackets ( ) that moves the shape up or down left or right
the top number is left or right, you move it left if it is a negative number - and right if it's positive.

What does the bottom number indicate?
The bottom number indicate if the shape goes up or down
if it goes down then it must be a negative number and if it goes up it a positive.

Give a real life example of when translation is used.
You use translation when you are in a elevator because you go up or down

Rotational Symmetry

Questions:
  1. In your own words explain what rotational symmetry is. A rotational symmetry is when a shape can be lifted up and placed inside it self in other ways.
  2. How is rotational symmetry different from line symmetry? A line symmetry is when a object or shape mirrors the other half and a rotational is when a shape can be lifted up and placed inside it self in other ways, you can't do that with a line symmetry you can't make it the same because it's a mirrors
  3. What do you do to check if a shape has rotational symmetry?

  4. Find pictures of 3 real life objects which have rotational symmetry (not shapes, objects e.g. foods, logos) and paste them into your post

"MUM where are my favourite socks," I asked yelling for help.
"And where are my Tuesday's undies," asked Dad searching through his drawers.
"You know I have to wear them today."
" Just wear Monday's undies no one is going to know," replied Mum.
"No one is going to know you say, i'm going to know and to wear Monday's undies pfft that would be idiotic," Dad answered back with a streak in his voice. This was only the beginning of our family disaster, for the next few weeks things were starting to disappear and fast. With Dad losing his Tuesday undies and me losing my favourite socks, Isaac then lost his favourite bow tie while Mum then lost her favourite dress we thought we were going mental.
"It's not like they could just hop up and run away," said Isaac, Mum suggested that we recap our steps.
"When was the last time you had you items?" she asked we all replied before washing day was the last time we had them.
"So maybe its the washing machine that's caused all this drama," Mum said with a glimpse a hope in her eyes we checked the washing machine there was… nothing, with nothing to prove I decided to put a Go-Pro in the machine to watch it in action to see if there was something suspicious really happening inside, what I didn’t realize was that the washing machine would take my Go-Pro too.
"AHHH ITS GONE!" I yelled at the top of my voice.
"What are we going to do? lets just give up." Mum said to me.
"Fine if that’s the best idea," I moaned. A few weeks later Isaac had dropped his toy car behind the washing machine and as we were looking for it a pair of undies popped up out of the blue just sitting there.
"Mum look!" I said with a big grin on my face who would have guessed we both stood there smiling.

"Morning class," greeted Miss Green. It was an ordinary day and everyone was sitting at their wooden desks with pens and pencils by their sides. The sweet sound of voices filling the room brought music to my ears I decide to listen in on Brittany's conversation with Ella.
"OMG, last night I reached into my bag to get out my book and it wasn’t there," explained Brittany
"No way," replied Ella
that exact thing happened to me I was sure I put it into my bag this is a little strange I thought to myself, why are things disappearing.

Eventually the bell went and it was time to go home. I told my mum what I had witnessed at school and she was lost for words. That night I couldn't get Brittany and Ella's conversation out of my head. I grabbed my laptop out of my bag to google this mystery but as I unzipped the case I looked down only to see that there was no laptop in my bag this is insane. I decided to look in my other pocket of my bag and to my surprise my lunch box was also missing.

The sun was shining, birds were singing it seemed like an ordinary day. I walked into my class that is usually full of colour but not today my class looked like a prison cell, "What happened," I gasped
"Don't worry kids," assured Miss Green.
"we have a thief in our class and I am going to get to the bottom of this," says Miss Green. One by one Miss Green started checking our bags everyone seemed relaxed except for James, Miss Green made her way down the line and James was last to be checked
"Oh," said Miss Green looking rather lost.
"What is this," she asked James as she pulled out two books, a pencil case, my laptop and two class posters from James's bag.

I was utterly shocked to say the least.
"I am so sorry," cried James "It's just that everyone has laptops or books and our class is so colourful that i wanted to take some of it home to make my house look better
"the truth is that you should be happy with what you have and not what others have,"
Says Miss Green.

It was a Monday morning, I just got woken up by my Mum to get ready for school. I got out of bed and reached down for my uniform but it wasn't there. I looked under my bed, under my pillows but I couldn't find my uniform anywhere.
"Kaidin have you gotten in the shower yet?"
"No mum I cant find my uniform,"
"Well you better find it quick or you will be going to school in your onesie,"
"But mum I can't find it anywhere it’s like its just disappeared,"
"Oh sure just like all your other stuff huh Kaidin,"
I got a note to go to school with that says that my uniform is lost and that I have to wear mufti just for today which was a pain because every teacher I walked past asked why i'm in mufti and where my uniform is so I just showed them the note and moved on when I got home I went to go grab my iPod from where I always put it but I looked and that wasn't there either I yelled out to my mum
"Mum, have you seen my iPod,"
"No but do you know where you last put it,"
"Mum, if I knew where I last put it do you think i'd be asking you where it is,"
"Sorry just trying to help,"

I thought to myself that i'll try to find it later so I run into my room to go on my PS3 but surprise surprise it’s not there
"Mum"
"Oh what now Kaidin?"
"I know you're up to mischief tell me where all my stuff is,"
"Kaidin do you really think I would hide your uniform away from you so you would go to school in your onesis now what's gone missing

My mum is the best

My mum is the best because she helps me in everything I do. Firstly, when I do sport, mum is always there being the manger or just there to support me like in hockey she is the manger of my school team, my rep team and coach of my sisters team. Secondly, when I am stuck on some school work like the Ikan, mum always helps me by practicing with me. Finally, Mum helps me because she gives great advise and if times get tough she is always there to help me get back up like when I had bells palsy and that is why my mum is the best.

Rimu is the best syndicate at TIS.

Rimu is the best syndicate in the school because we work as a team. Firstly,
no one plays sports like us, whether it's cricket, volleyball or even cross country we dominate as a team. Secondly, when times are tough we always pick each other up like how Ben is sick we helped out by doing a sausage sizzle. Finally, if someone in our house is suck with something like school work we help each other out like with my Ikan test I was suck on some questions so my friends and teacher helped me out before the test and that is why we are the best house in the school.

Explain our MMP voting system.

Explain our MMP voting system (Mixed Member Proportional)

MMP is what we use to choose our parliament
It is a proportional system, which means that the proportion of votes a party gets will largely reflect the number of seats it has in parliament.

Each person over the age of 18 gets 2 votes.

The first vote is for the political party the voter chooses, this is called the Party voter.

The second vote is to choose the MP the voter, This is called the electorate vote.
